Metadrop is a photo metadata editor for iOS. We built it with privacy as a core principle. This policy explains what data is accessed, what is sent externally, and what controls you have.
Summary: Your photos and metadata stay on your device. We do not have servers, user accounts, or advertising. Optional features like AI analysis and usage analytics can be disabled at any time in Settings.
Metadrop requests access to your photo library to read and edit photo metadata (EXIF, IPTC, GPS, etc.). All metadata editing happens locally on your device. Your original photos are never uploaded to any server.
When you enable Cloud Analysis in Settings, Metadrop can suggest keywords for your photos using AI. Here’s how it works:
This feature is disabled by default. You are always in control of when and whether photo previews are sent for analysis.
Metadrop uses TelemetryDeck, a privacy-first analytics service, to understand how the app is used. This helps us improve the app.
You can disable analytics at any time in Settings > AI & Privacy > Usage Analytics.
